Today`s Dilemma

The increasing demand on health care services is creating several dilemmas for health care providers in offering high quality care to their patients. Providers are seeking ways to increase patient satisfaction by providing timely access to health care services, reducing waiting times and having the ability to schedule appointments that fit the needs of individual patients. At the same time, health care providers are looking for ways to become more efficient in providing timely care to reduce operational costs.
These dilemmas are becoming more complex, as an estimated 30 million more people in the United States will have insurance coverage that will provide them regular access to health care services, which will further increase the demand for health care services. It is estimated that 16 million of the newly insured will be covered by Medicaid, and past studies have revealed that individuals that are insured by the government are more likely to arrive late or not show up at all to their appointments. With the expected increase of patients becoming late arrivals or no-shows to their appointments, health care providers will find it more difficult to provide timely care to their patients without incurring higher costs.
